Four people are hospitalized after a gas leak in a Jackson Heights building late Friday.
Firefighters went to the building, located on 81st Street near 31st Avenue, at midnight after reports of the smell of gas.
Once on the scene, teams detected high levels of carbon monoxide in the building and in the residences on the side.
All the people were evacuated and the houses were put on ventilation.
Eight people required medical attention and four of them are in Cornell Hospital.
The utility companies have been notified and the incident was brought under control at two thirty in the morning.
