Three women, who need oxygen due to covid-19, are hospitalized in the San Pedro Claver hospital, whose director, María Elena Lescano, stressed that two of them have not received the vaccine against the disease and the other has only received one dose.
By instruction of the Departmental Health Service (Sedes), San Pedro Claver is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of these patients.
“I have three patients hospitalized in the covid room, two without a vaccine and one with only one vaccine,” Lescano confirmed to Correo del Sur Radio FM 90.1, who detailed the ages of these people: 34, 37 and 48 years old.
Regarding his state of health, he said that all three are hospitalized with oxygen needs. “Let’s hope they don’t reach intensive care,” she said when she asked for the general population to be vaccinated against the disease.
“These are the people who don’t have the vaccine and are doing very badly, they need more oxygen,” the Director remarked about the cases treated during this sixth wave of the pandemic at the aforementioned hospital.
This season, San Pedro Claver, like other health centers, is experiencing problems with officials. However, they hope that medical, pharmaceutical, manual and technical staff for patient care will be re-hired by Friday.
Santa Bárbara hospital Emergencies chief Marcelo Valdivia said a patient hospitalized for polyneuropathy tested positive for the coronavirus on Monday and is under observation, being treated for his prevalent condition.
