Bad Nauheim (dpa / lhe) – The corona easing in more and more Hessian municipalities is making restaurateurs and retailers look ahead optimistically. Soon the whole country will be in the opening stages, said Julius Wagner, the general manager of the restaurant association Dehoga Hessen, the German press agency in Bad Nauheim. “That is of course very, very positive.” The stipulated step-by-step approach to the relaxation opens up perspectives and planning security for the industry. However, the partly applicable test requirement for local visitors occasionally causes practical problems.

The retailers were also satisfied after the first days and weeks with relaxed restrictions in several counties and urban districts. “Basically things are going in the right direction in Hesse,” said the general manager of the Hesse trade association, Sven Rohde. The fact that no corona test is required for shopping in the municipalities concerned is “a great advantage because that was always a stumbling block”.

When and where corona restrictions are relaxed in Hessen depends on the seven-day incidence. If a district or an independent city is above the threshold of 100, the federal emergency brake applies. Where the value is permanently below the level, level 1 of the country’s easing concept applies. Among other things, outdoor restaurants may then open with conditions such as proof of a negative corona test. Shopping is possible without a test, but with registration (Click & Meet). In the second stage, customers no longer need to log in. Locals are now also allowed to open inside – the mandatory test applies there, but no longer applies to the outdoor areas.
