The Preventive Medicine and Public Health Service of the Hospital University of Ceuta has launched a campaign of vaccination against Herpes Zoster.

Likewise, they also reported on the people who are candidates to receive herpes Zoster and the moment in which they should be vaccinated.
Thus, for the general population this injection is recommended for people born between 1943 and 1947 and also will be available to the general population born in 1957 which began to vaccinate at the end of 2022.
In this sense, people with a hematopoietic stem cell transplant should do so two months after the transplant in the case of autologous and from the second month in the case of allogeneic.
On the other hand, for people with a solid organ transplant, this vaccination should be pre-transplant or post-transplant after 4-18 months.
For people with HIV, the vaccine should be administered in a stable situation, “in order to obtain a better response.”
Citizens with malignant blood diseases should receive this injection at the time of diagnosis if possible, if not 10 days before the start of antitumor therapy, also during antitumor therapy, or at the end of it.
In the case of solid tumors being treated with chemotherapy, it is recommended that it be inoculated before treatment or after completing it. Likewise, during this period, vaccination can be sought looking for the moment of least immunosuppression and greater stability of its pathology in order to optimize the immune response.
