SARONNO – The Hospital Safeguard Committee welcomed with great satisfaction the news of the adhesion of 19 Mayors of the Saronnese district to the appeal to the Lombardy Region for the relaunch of our hospital as a first level garrison.
But it is not the only initiative. There are many (to date 71) general practitioners and pediatricians of free choice in the Saronnese area who have signed a further appeal in support of the Saronno hospital and who will exhibit it in their clinics.
There is a great and evident concern for the deterioration of the indispensable integration between territorial assistance and specialist assistance caused by the increasingly evident decline of the hospital itself.

We family doctors from the Saronese area join our colleagues, nurses and socio-health workers in supporting the hospital in Saronno.
A strong bond, emotional and professional, unites us to the hospital and its city.
The hospital is ours too: there the patients found adequate answers to their problems, we professional relationships with specialists to entrust them to and to confront. The closure of some departments, the drastic reduction of beds and the shortage of specialists is serious and represents a major problem. Outpatient services undergo abnormal delays with the consequent “migration” of patients to other structures, distant and disconnected from our territory.
More and more frequently, hospitalizations take place in distant hospitals and there is a lack of integration between territorial health care and specialist assistance within and outside the hospital.
In other words: continuous and qualified assistance in our area is not guaranteed and our work is increasingly dispersed and less effective!
We join the request of the Hospital Committee, the Mayors and all the political and social forces that have joined together to ask the Region to find the resources and methods to redevelop the hospital of Saronno in a very short time, concrete solutions for make it effective and efficient again in the primary interest of the health of the community.
