Hospital pressure increases in the Pontevedra-Salnés Health Area and also on primary care | Radio Pontevedra

Very strong rise of covid patients who need assistance in the hospitals of the Pontevedra-Salnés health area. The number of hospitalized patients has risen from 25 yesterday to 35 today. There are 30 patients in the Montecelo Hospital of Pontevedra, specifically 25 on the floor and 5 en la UCI. In the last hour there have been 4 admissions to the plant at the Hospital do Salnés and 1 at the Miguel Domínguez. Regarding transfers between Montecelo and the Hospital do Salnés, Sergas clarified today that it was due to specific issues, not because there is no space in Montecelo.

In the last 24 hours there have been 206 new infections and we exceed 2,600 active cases, specifically 2,615.

In the health area of ​​Santiago Barbanza and Deza it continues to worsen and for the first time in this fifth wave it exceeds 200 infections in a single day. In the last 24 hours, 232 new infections have been registered, adding a total of 1,883 active cases.

In this area there are 10 patients in the Hospital Clínico de Santiago, 8 patients in the ward and 2 in the ICU. The Regional Hospital of O Barbanza is free of covid for the moment.

In this sense, the Health section of the UGT syndicate affirms that the management of the Pontevedra-Salnés health area leaves all responsibility to health professionals in the face of the avalanche of people affected by COVID along with the necessary attention to the other patients who need it.

Professionals feel abandoned to be able to meet the demand that they are meeting daily, they say that all Primary Care professionals are suffering healthcare pressure on the verge of collapse.

Public health workers say that there are no personnel on the lists so that they can work and reinforce the different centers because the working conditions are not attractive, and that therefore, the solution is to improve the working conditions so that these professionals come back.
