Hospital Patients Running Out of Buildings Due to the 5.8 M . Earthquake

Parepare, South Sulawesi – The 5.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Mamuju, West Sulawesi was felt as far as the City of Pare-pare, South Sulawesi.

A number of staff, doctors and patients at Andi Makkasau Hospital immediately ran out of the building when the earthquake was felt in the city of Parepare. The majority of these doctors and staff were on the second floor of the hospital when the earthquake struck.

However, the hospital did not evacuate the patient because the vibration did not last long and was considered safe.

There have been no reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake in Parepare City.(awy)
