Hospital for the treatment of SARS-CoV-2 patients in Hanoi soon to be commissioned | Health

Hanoi (VNA) – After more than a month of construction, the COVID-19 Patient Treatment Hospital, located in Hoang Mai District, Hanoi, with 500 beds, dedicated to collecting and treating patients severe and critical, is scheduled to enter service on September 1.

The hospital was established by decision of the Ministry of Health and is the second facility of the Hanoi Faculty of Medicine Hospital. It is a hospital responsible for the active resuscitation of patients with the following tasks: collection, emergency and treatment of severe and critical COVID-19 patients of SARS-CoV-2; and directing, guiding, providing professional and technical support in emergencies, intensive care and patient treatment for other facilities.

The hospital is expected to mobilize around 1,000 health workers, including 272 doctors and 680 nurses, to serve patients with COVID-19. All rooms are equipped with a camera system to carefully monitor the patient’s progress.

The hospital will receive COVID-19 patients with indications of hospitalization in Hanoi and neighboring provinces.

The hospital was started on July 24, covering 3.5 ha, divided into three zones: the administrative zone of the hospital, which must ensure the absence of infection; the yellow building intended for nutrition, rest, tests, the warehouse of medical equipment; and the red building dedicated to serious and critical patients.
