A horse wreaked havoc 9,144 meters above the ground. A cargo plane was forced to turn around and land after the animal escaped from its box during the flight. Usually, this type of aircraft has first class, business class and economy class depending on the different sizes of containers that are available for the animals.
The plane was traveling from New York to Liege, Belgium, but about 90 minutes after takeoff, an emergency situation occurred and urgent action was required, BNT reported. A veterinarian is also immediately wanted on board the plane to meet the aircraft at John F. Kennedy International Airport. As the plane returned, 20 tons of fuel had to be dumped “east of Nantucket” during the accident due to the weight of the machine.
The reasons for the escape of the horse are not clear, as well as whether the animal suffered any injuries. Why the horse was transported also remains unknown, but the probable cause is the transport of racehorses.
The flight took place later that day and ended successfully at Liege Airport in Belgium.
This is not the first incident where an animal has escaped from its cargo cabin on board a plane. In August, a bear escaped from its cage during a flight from Dubai to Baghdad and caused chaos on board as it casually strolled around the cargo hold.
