Apart from ice hockey, winter sports have now passed. There is now a nice message for the friends of equestrian sports. And unusual this year: DFB Cup semi-finals on the weekend, not the final.
Successful winter sport
Goodbye ice and snow ?? and of course Das Erste can take a sensational look back at winter sports 2020/21. Which is not at all surprising: ski jumping and biathlon ensured the best ratings. World championships were due in both sports. The jumping saw an average of 3.66 million people, the skiing plus shooting 3.59 million? which means market shares of 19.0 and 24.4 percent. Biathlon did better, but the broadcasts were mostly at noon and in the afternoon, and ski jumping more in the evening. From 2.47 million viewers on average to 2.60 million, the ARD increased the already good numbers compared to the previous year. The Four Hills Tournament ensured the best results: the second round of the New Year’s event in Partenkirchen saw 7.30 million fans, 32.5 percent of all people in front of the TV set. Top of the biathlon: The women’s mass start at the home World Cup in Oberhof ( 5.74 million; 29.0 percent).
Much pain in the MDR
This Monday, March 29th, the MDR will be showing from 10:10 p.m. on “Fact is!” the panel discussion – sweat, pain and tears. Where are the limits in competitive sports ???, which can be seen beforehand from 8.30 p.m. as a live stream at mdr.de/ffekt-ist and then in the ARD media library. Successful ice hockey broadcasts

The market seems to be present with allegedly more than eleven million equestrian fans among the over 14-year-olds, two million horse owners and 680,000 active club members. Say hello to online sports (TV)
ServusTV Germany is expanding its digital and free of charge offer at servustv.com/sport and promises, among other things, the MotoGP ??, FIM Superbike, the World Rally Championship and live tennis with Alexander Zverev. ServusTV is now available as a smart TV app, for example via Android TV, Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV and Chromecast and has also received a refresh in the mobile version (iOS & Android).
Cup football on the weekend
On May 1st, the Bundesliga has been paused for years because the police forces are otherwise bound on that day. Even in times of pandemics, there will be no game day this year, although May 1st falls on a Saturday. But football does exist, even if the DFB Cup semi-final between RB Leipzig and the winner of the outstanding game Jahn Regensburg – Werder Bremen (will take place on April 7th on a Wednesday) on Friday evening, scheduled for May 2nd April 30, was brought forward.
