Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif spoke about the worst-case scenario of world oil prices. He revealed that the worst case scenario is the oil price breaking through US$ 200 per barrel.
He said that if oil prices continued to rise, it would have an impact on subsidies distributed by the government.
“In the future, we have two scenarios for the oil, worst case and good case and normal. If normal, it will cost us US$ 100, but in worst case it could be US$ 200,” he said at JCC Senayan Jakarta, Wednesday (27/7). /2022).

“If we just multiply US$ 200, which is Rp. 200 trillion, it’s just two times, it’s easy, this is what we have to anticipate. For that, we have to be right on target,” he said.
He said that the government itself will revise Presidential Regulation No. 191 of 2014. The revised regulation will contain regulations for the purchase of Pertalite.
The plan is for the new regulation to be issued in August 2022. He said that his party had already obtained an initiative permit.
“God willing (August), we have to work fast. The items are already there,” he concluded.
