The second largest city in Greece, Thessaloniki, is “besieged” by at least 9,000 wild boars and the authorities are on high alert, reports the Greek TV station Sky.
Forestry and veterinary services estimate that there are currently between 9,000 and 10,000 wild boars around Thessaloniki, said Mayor of Neapoli-Sikies municipality Simos Daniilidis.
