Horror on the highway: The truck was towing a wedged car, the frightened driver waving for help

An incredible accident happened last week on a highway near Chicago, USA. The truck “picked up” a car there and dragged it tens to hundreds of meters down the road without its driver reacting. On the other hand, the young and very frightened driver of the passenger waved desperately for help and called the police out of her crushed honda.

The driver of the Honda Accord peeks out of the window of a demolished sedan, smoke and the smell of burnt rubber are everywhere. However, the truck driver does not notice at all that he has a wedged passenger car under the trailer. Didn’t he notice the impact, the drop in power, the squeaking of the wheels, or at least the smoke? He probably had the situation partly in a blind spot, and he just didn’t check the right mirror.

In the meantime, a drama was taking place under his wheels. The Honda Accord driver waved to passing cars to help her, and called the police several times as the truck dragged her car on.

The drama on the highway near Chicago was filmed by one of the passing drivers. Shortly afterwards, he allegedly managed to attract the driver’s attention, stop the truck and save the 19-year-old driver. She was very lucky – few people will survive such a “meeting” with a truck. However, according to the police, no one was injured in this terrible accident, according to the portal of the American station ABC.

How did the incredible accident happen? Illinois police said Laylisha Gardner, 19, wanted to change lanes and her car was stuck under a truck at the time. But there are two versions – the driver’s lawyer in an interview with WGN Radio later said that his client’s car hit a car when he was moving from the left lane.

The court will have to decide who is to blame. But Laylisha Gardner is lucky to be able to attend.
