Horror! Malaysia Prints Record 19 Thousand COVID Cases a Day

Malaysia set new record for daily additional cases corona virus (COVID-19) is the highest in the region. More than 19,000 Corona cases were recorded in the country in the last 24 hours.

As reported The Star and Channel News Asia, Wednesday (4/8/2021), the Malaysian Ministry of Health reported that 19,819 Corona cases were detected in the last 24 hours. This figure is recorded as the highest additional daily case since the start of the pandemic last year.

Of this figure, the Klang Valley area accounted for more than half of the new cases, while the Selangor region accounted for 8,377 cases and Kuala Lumpur accounted for 2,467 new cases. The regions of Johor, Kedah and Kelantan each reported an additional over 1,000 cases in a day.

The latest record for the highest daily additional cases came two days after Malaysia set a record high daily death toll, with 219 deaths reported in a day on Monday (2/8) local time.

Currently, a total of 1,183,110 Corona cases have been recorded in Malaysia.

The number of Corona cases in Malaysia has increased rapidly in recent weeks. The country’s daily caseload even hit a record high for 10 consecutive days in July.

Since July 12, the number of new Corona cases in Malaysia has never dropped from 10,000 daily.

The Malaysian Health Ministry report said the country of 32 million people has reportedly injected more than 22 million doses of the Corona vaccine, with more than 7.4 million people fully vaccinated — receiving two doses — as of August 3.
