On January 18th, the creative doujin circle in Japan, Shichikobo and Hachikoro, announced thatA scary story that happened at an Apathy school]has been released on the Steam store page. According to the Steam store page, the game will be released in February 2023. It seems that the same work that has been developed for PC since 2019 can also be purchased on Steam.

“Apathy School Deta Scary Story Kiwami” is a horror adventure game produced by the doujin circle “Seven Falls and Eight Rolls” by Japanese game creator Takiya Iijima. The main character (default name is Shuichi Sakagami) is a first-year high school student who belongs to Narukami Gakuen’s newspaper club. One day in summer, the main character will collect scary stories from high schools all over the country and make a wall newspaper at the suggestion of Hino, a senior member of the newspaper club.
A month later, six scary storytellers are gathered in front of the main character who has successfully finished making the wall newspaper. It is said that they were invited by the main character and gathered at Narukami Academy, but I have no recollection of sending such an email to the main character himself. Despite the bewildered main character, they started telling a scary story because they had come all the way together. A world of horror unfolds through ghost stories and mysteries told by high school students.
The main characters involved will choose a narrator and listen to their scary stories. Basically, it is a novel game format, and the story progresses according to the text. In the middle of a scary story, a large number of options are installed. The story branches off depending on the protagonist’s backtracking and responses, and there are 147 different endings. In addition, this work is a work that draws on the flow of the “Scary Story at School” series. Makoto Shindo, Shoji Arai, Akemi Iwashita, and other familiar narrators who have appeared in previous works in the series will appear. There are 13 new scenarios added, and it seems that a new form of text horror is drawn. Scenarios include an exploration scenario of an old school building with RPG elements and a game play-by-play theme.
This work is produced by Takiya Iijima’s creative doujin circle. Takiya Iijima is a domestic game creator who has been involved in the “Scary Story at School” series and “Shihachi (provisional)”. The circle has released many works in the “Scary Story at School” series, such as “Apathy School’s Scary Story Shinsei” and “Apathy School’s Scary Story Secret”. As one of them, in April 2019, this work “Scary Story Kiwami at Apathy School” was released for PC. This time, it will be possible to play this work from Steam as well.
