A reporter from ABC experienced an embarrassing and scary incident. At that time, he was passing a full body examination in Sydney Airport.
Reported Traveller, Friday (17/6/2022) a journalist who experienced the terrible incident told it in a thread on Twitter. And, her experience has sparked strong reactions among other female travelers.
Louise Milligan, who works for the ABC, detailed her ordeal using a new full-body safety check. He had to take off his tight jacket and leave behind a small camis.
“This has never happened anywhere. The guy at the front, in the big big jumper wasn’t asked to take it off. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, scary,” he explained.
He added that when he alerted Qantas staff, they were angry. The airline also received complaints from many women for similar safety this week.
“They said a woman cried after being forced to take off her shirt. They have complained to the airport manager,” he said.
Milligan is backed by fellow journalist and The Project host, Lisa Wilkinson. He has also experienced the effects of stringent security recently at Brisbane and Adelaide airports.
“This new full body scanner was a real problem, the scan showed wires in my bra & zippers on my jeans and I had to undergo a thorough examination of both areas. Embarrassing, uncomfortable, inappropriate & should have been fixed,” she explained.
