Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A number of countries expelled Russian diplomats. The latest, this was done by Italy, Tuesday (5/4/2022) local night.
At least 30 diplomats were asked to return to their countries. “National security,” Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said of the reason, citing CNN International.
He said that Italy had previously summoned the Russian ambassador. The expulsion is also in line with the decision of Italy’s allies, in Europe and the Atlantic, because of the Kremlin’s attack on Ukraine.
“Italy is ready to act as guarantor of security and peace in Ukraine and we will do whatever it takes to carry out this work,” he said.
The same thing was previously done by Denmark yesterday. There were 15 diplomats, allegedly intelligence officers, expelled.
