Horrified! Bank Owned by 2 RI Conglomerates Merger, Assets Like This

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia Two banks owned by Indonesian conglomerates, PT Bank Nobu Tbk (NOBU) and PT Bank MNC Internasional Tbk (BABP) will merge, alias merger. When combined, the assets of the two are almost IDR 40 trillion.

Referring to the monthly financial reports as of January 2023, Bank Nobu’s assets reach IDR 21 trillion. Meanwhile, MNC Bank’s total assets reached IDR 16.98 trillion in January 2023.

When action merger If this is completed, the marriage of the two banks will at least collect assets worth IDR 37.98 trillion or nearly IDR 40 trillion.


To note, MNC Bank is a private bank owned by Hary Tanoesoedibjo (HT) through the MNC Group. Meanwhile, Nobu Bank is owned by the Riady Family through its Lippo Group.

Previously, OJK Banking Supervision Chief Executive Dian Ediana Rae said the two banks had merged to comply with OJK minimum capital regulations. Reportedly, the two are already in the process, and even have a team to handle the merger.

“There have been steps towards the realization of the merger,” said Dian at a recent OJK press conference.
