The long winter of Formula 1, in addition to increasing the expectation to understand what the actual performance of the single-seaters will be on the track, has aroused the curiosity of many enthusiasts for the unusual market movements which involved i leaders of various teams. One after the other, like a domino, Alfa Romeo-Sauber, McLaren, Ferrari and Williams have replaced their team principal with a new figure. A revolution with few precedents in the recent history of the Circus, which understandably intrigues even those insiders who have remained stable in their place.
Inevitably, in the upper part of the starting grid, the movement that made the most noise was the one involving the Ferrari: out Matthias Binottowho finished an almost thirty-year experience in red, and inside Frederic Vasseur. The boss of the Red Bull house also expressed his opinion on the change at the helm of the Maranello team Christian Horner, who dueled with the red – winning – in 2022 to bring Max Verstappen to the conquest of his second world title and the Milton Keynes team back at the top of the Constructors. The British manager expressed affectionate words for Binotto, but above all he didn’t fail to ‘tease’ the new Ferrari team principal on sports policy issues.
“I have sympathy for Mattia, because in the end he did a good job – Horner pointed out to the site Motor Sport Magazine – Last year he took a big step forward from the past so it must have been tough for him [lasciare] after the long service he has given to Ferrari. About Fred, it will be interesting to see if in the next meetings he will still discuss the same points he had for Sauber – Horner then added again – but he is a very capable person. So it will be very interesting. I’m sure they are all very capable people. We will see what the dynamics will be at the next meeting of the Formula 1 Commission“.
