Previously unknown perpetrators contacted two women in the Horn district via Whats App in the last 4 weeks and stated that they were their sons. By pretending to have a broken cell phone and using a new phone number, the scammers asked for cash to be transferred for an urgent payment. The victims made the transfers to the Lithuanian account named by the perpetrators. The total damage amounts to several thousand euros.
Further surveys were initiated.

Never transfer money to an unknown or dubious account.
Scammers ask questions only real son can answer and make contact with real son.
Notify the police and secure WhatsApp correspondence.
