Ask:
Hello, I have the hormone implant (Implanon) at the moment I have to have blood drawn every 5 to 6 weeks. These are then always 1 or sometimes 2 tubes. I know that the Implanon releases hormones into the blood. If I now have blood drawn every 5 weeks, can this affect the effect of the hormone implant, since at least 2 tubes of blood are taken from the body every 5 weeks? So some hormones that are in the blood are lost.

Reply:
Hormone implant and often take blood – contraception ??
The amount of blood taken should not have a decisive effect on the effect of the implant. But ask your gynecologist whether he suspects that you have a restricted contraception.

Answer to:
Hormone implant and often draw blood
Do I have to take additional contraceptives after taking my blood, if so for how long? And do the blood tests that are frequently taken one after the other make any difference at all? If I should also use contraception, 7 days after each blood draw would be sufficient, wouldn’t it?
