Many games released in the past year and a half are for the last-gen and next-gen consoles. Due to the scarcity of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, it is only difficult to choose which version to go for. Are you getting the last-gen version because you have that console at home and are you waiting a little longer to fully enjoy the game on next-gen?
To make that choice a little easier, many developers and publishers have introduced a free upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X version. Sony even promised that all cross-gen games would get a free upgrade shortly after the PS5 launch. But at the unveiling of the different editions by Horizon Forbidden West seemed little of that to be true.
Now Guerrilla Games claims a mistake was made via the PlayStation Blog. All players who purchase the PS4 version of Horizon Forbidden West will receive a free upgrade to the PS5 version.
Postponement for Horizon Forbidden West
Fans of Horizon Forbidden West will have to wait longer for the game’s release. During Opening Night Live at gamescom 2021, Guerrilla Games announced that the sequel is on Horizon Zero Dawn comes out later. Now the title will release on February 18, 2022. Previously, there was fear of a postponement, after there was no talk about a release date at the State of Play, which was completely set up on Horizon Forbidden West.
