Publish the first evaluations of the Burning Shores expansion online for Horizon Forbidden West. Metacritic users gave the game a 2.7 out of 10 due to the appearance of a character with a non-traditional sexual orientation.
Gamers were dissatisfied with the scene with one of Aloy’s friends named Seika, who shows a romantic interest in the main character. The final choice is optional – the player can reject the partner’s feelings.
Because of this scene, gamers began to underestimate the game. Someone considered the character unnecessary, and someone was dissatisfied with the indication of Aloy’s possible orientation. Some users have stated that they will now stop buying Guerrilla Games games.
In positive reviews, players note good graphics and interesting gameplay. At the same time, some point to a simple plot, which, however, does not spoil the overall impression of the DLC.
The original Horizon Forbidden West was released on February 18, 2022. The Burning Shores expansion was released on April 19, 2023. In it, Aloy travels to post-apocalyptic Los Angeles.
