Virtual Reality is indeed a unique gaming medium that in the right hands, does promise an immersive gaming experience. Even though there is a tendency, at least in sci-fi films, that it will end up being a technology that replaces conventional gaming activities as we know it today, it is unlikely to achieve this function quickly in the real world. Still a side market with a limited number of cool games, at least there are still many “big” players who continue to push this technology.
Along with the official announcement of the name and specifications that will be carried by the Playstation VR2, Sony also gave a peek at the first-party game project they are planning. Coming from the cold hands of Guerrilla Games with Firesprite – a studio that Sony recently bought, this game will carry the name Horizon Call of the Mountain. You’ll be playing a new character here, but still sharing the same universe as the world Aloy lives in. Guerilla even mentions that you will meet him and several other familiar faces in this project.
Guerilla promises to introduce this new main character in more detail in the future. Like the Playstation VR2, Guerilla also doesn’t have a definite release date for Horizon Call of the Mountain. What do you think? Looks interesting?
