The deer beat Dortikos by points in Munich.
“It’s a shame I couldn’t share my emotions with my fans and with the people who believed in me, who prayed for me and who sent me very energetic and strong messages. Hopefully I made you happier tonight,” Briedis said.
He admitted that his team, family and fans were very much looking forward to the victory.
Answering the interviewer’s question, which Briedis will start after the fight, he answered that he was waiting for a flight to Riga, where unfortunately due to the restrictions introduced by Covid-19, their fans will not be able to meet him at the airport.
Commenting on the course of the fight itself, Briedis pointed out that the first rounds were dangerous until he got used to the opponent. “After that, we didn’t risk and boxed our box,” said Briedis.
He also congratulated boxers Bolotņiku, which on Saturday reached the finals of the boxing tournament “Golden Contract” organized by “MTK Global” in semi – heavy weight, saying that “Latvia can be proud of the two of us, but we also have a lot ahead”.
