HOPE FOR LESS BLACKOUTS – EcoEléctrica manages to bring in 2 units

ECOELÉCTRICA MANAGES TO ENTER 2 UNITS – See its press release – With the authorization of the Puerto Rico Energy Control Center, on September 1, 2024, we began the work of total plant shutdown for scheduled annual maintenance of the EcoElectrica Power Plant.

Maintenance activities were carried out as scheduled and yesterday, Thursday, September 5, we restored the first of our three generating units to service. This morning, we synchronized the second of the units to service, thus recovering 50% of the available capacity for Puerto Rico’s electrical system.

We will continue working alongside the contractors and suppliers that support us until we complete the work on the remaining unit in the next few days. In this way, we will be normalizing our operations and making 100% of our capacity available to the Puerto Rico electrical system.

Carrying out scheduled maintenance of generating units in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer requirements is essential to maintaining the reliability and operational efficiency that characterizes us. In this way, we continue to make our valuable contribution to the Puerto Rican electric sector in periods when it is most needed.
