– That’s what I’ve always wanted. May someone look at it again. I want to know what happened, it intrigues me. Because something happened here.

This is what Nina Bråthen’s ex boyfriend tells VG.

Nina was found dead in her apartment in Fjell in Drammen in the summer of 2019. She had a bilateral hyoid fracture in her throat, which indicated that she could have been strangled with a hand grip.

In early October this year, VG wrote to longer article on deathafter accessing the entire survey.

On Tuesday this week it became known that Kripos’ The cold case team will review the investigation into the case.

They will start with the new year and consider whether new investigative steps can be taken to learn more about the circumstances of the death.

OUTSIDE APARTMENT: Here the ex-boyfriend pictured outside Nina’s apartment in February 2018, in connection with a violent incident for which he was later convicted.

Over four months after Nina was found dead, the ex-boyfriend was charged with murder. He has always denied guilt and the case against him was dismissed by the Attorney General.

When he read the news that the cold cases group was to look into the case, he was “really happy,” he says.

– I never thought it would happen, but I had hope. I don’t know stuff like that, but when a case is filed, I thought it was just filed.

It is important for him to find out what happened to Nina.

– This hangs over me every day. When she had this neck break, I think something must have happened, says the ex-boyfriend.

He goes on to say that Nina may be unstable and fall, but that she doesn’t think that’s the reason for the breakup.

– Where does it come from? What happened? We have not received a response to this, she says.

He says it’s also important that he be completely purified.

“It was a burden to be accused of such a thing, and I hope that will purify me to a greater extent,” he says.

IN STORE: The last confirmed sighting of Nina, in Kiwi, on 6 July 2019.

He says friends and acquaintances supported him after he told his story in VG.

– They think he’s a tough bastard, who dared to talk to VG. I was hoping the case would come back, because the whole case is so boring, he says.

– Will you help the police if they ask something?

– Then I get up. There is no doubt about that, she says.

Cold case manager Espen Erdal told VG on Tuesday that the case will be given top priority and that they will carry out a thorough review.

Nina Bråthen’s death is not on Kripos’ list of unsolved murders. The Southeast Police District wants the Cold Case group to evaluate this question before deciding whether or not the Nina case should be on the list.
