WhatsApp said the addition was made while remaining committed to privacy and the safety of its users. The ability to add 512 people to groups is available on WhatsApp beta version 2.22.12.10 on Android and version 22.12.0.70 on iOS.
In its official release, WhatsApp also increased the capacity of sending documents up to 2GB. The shipment is also processed through an encryption system.
Previously, users could only send documents with a maximum of 100MB. This addition, said WhatsApp, is expected to increase collaboration between small businesses and school groups.
“We recommend sending larger documents using WiFi. We will also show you how long it will take you to send the document,” WhatsApp said.
