[TV서울=박양지 기자] On the 16th, Hook Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as Hook), which caused a dispute between singer and actor Lee Seung-gi about the payment of the music deal, announced that it had paid Lee Seung-gi about 4.1 billion of won, including the unpaid settlement the money.
Regarding the dispute over the music settlement, Hook said in a press release that day, “The amount Lee Seung-gi requested differed too much from the actual amount Hook was required to settle, so the two sides could not reach a deal”.
However, Hook said, “I don’t want to have a long dispute with Lee Seung-gi, who has maintained an exclusive contractual relationship for a long time, on the issue of the transaction, so in addition to the basic payment of 1.3 billion won, I paid in full the unpaid severance pay amount of 2.9 billion won and default interest of 1.2 billion won.” .
Along with the settlement payment, Hook added, “After confirming that there is no longer any settlement debt owed to Lee Seung-gi, we have filed a court case to confirm the non-existence of the debt in order to terminate the transaction related dispute between Lee Seung-gi and Lee Seung-gi.”
Lee Seung-gi raised an issue last month, saying he hadn’t received a single cent from Hook for 18 years, and finally decided to disband by sending Hook an exclusive contract termination notice.
Hook said, “Once again, I sincerely apologize to Lee Seung-gi for causing misunderstanding and controversy like this regardless of the reason due to mishandling of work.”
