“Honoring the Three Police Officers Killed in Roubaix: Ministry of Interior Calls for Minute of Silence”

In tribute to the three police officers killed in Roubaix on the morning of May 21, all departments of the Ministry of the Interior were called on Thursday May 25 at 12 p.m. to observe a minute of silence.

In Caussade, the ceremony took place in the courtyard of the gendarmerie brigade, under the command of Captain Sébastien Bonnet, in the presence of elected municipal officials. The minute of silence was then followed by a taking up of arms in front of the tricolor flag. The tribute message recalled the circumstances of the death of these three police officers: Steven Greblac, Paul Medeiros and Manon Raux, police captains, who died in action on the ring road linking Roubaix and Lille to Villeneuve-d’Ascq. During the ceremony in Roubaix, in the presence of the President of the Republic, they were named knights in the order of the Legion of Honor and cited in the order of the nation. The medal for acts of courage and dedication, gold level; the Homeland Security Medal, Gold Level, and the National Police Medal of Honor, Gold Level, were awarded to them posthumously. In the message read by Captain Bonnet, it was underlined: “Their death illustrates the boundless commitment of those who choose to devote their lives to the service of the French”.
