The Gießen-Friedberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry wants to recognize companies that have gone through 2020 with courage, openness to new things and flexibility. Precisely because last year was not an easy one for entrepreneurs, the IHK explains in a press release, whose area of responsibility includes the districts of Vogelsberg, Gießen and Wetterau.

Successful companies set the course for the future with the help of digitization, innovative products or changed work processes. Often these companies are not known to the public. “With the IHK company award, we want to make them known and recognize their achievements,” said the IHK.
The three categories of industry, trade and services and start-ups are awarded. Applications can be made online at www.ihk-preis.de. In addition to the written application form, this year there is also the opportunity to introduce yourself with a short video, informs the IHK. The application deadline is May 31, 2021.
The IHK company award was “awarded for the first time in 2016”, Ina Hillebrecht explains when asked by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In recent years, companies from the Vogelsberg district have also been among the winners: according to Hillebrecht, in 2016 Somack Fertigungstechnik from Mücke, which won in the young company category, and in 2018 Lampenwelt GmbH from Schlitz, which won in the trade and Services had been awarded. In 2017 and 2019, no Vogelsberg companies were among the winners. According to Hillebrecht, the price was not awarded in 2020 due to Corona.
