Former ruler and social democratic deputy António Couto dos Santos has resigned as honorary consul of Russia in Porto. “The reasons are obvious”, he limited himself to telling JN.
The decision follows the Russian invasion of Ukraine and was known on the day when hundreds of people gathered in a demonstration in front of the Russian Consulate in Porto, on Avenida da Boavista.
The decision to resign will have been taken on February 26.
