Honor X50: A Mid-range Smartphone with Impressive Features and Price/performance Ratio

Honor has introduced a new mid-range smartphone in the form of the Honor X50 smartphone, which impresses with its excellent price/performance ratio. At the same time, the smartphone has a great display, a modern chipset, a large battery and, at least on paper, a capable camera. Are we in for a future bestseller?

Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and 1.5k OLED in the main role

Before we focus on the very interesting news of the Honor X50, we must also quickly mention it the introduction of the slightly less equipped Honor X50i. However, it is not completely new, it is the Honor 90 Lite, which has already arrived on our market. Even in the case of the new Honor X50, it can be assumed that it will probably arrive in Europe under a different name – that is, if at all. Looking at the equipment, we can say that it would certainly be a shame if it avoided our market.

Specifically, we are talking about a modern chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 produced by the 4nm process. Although it was introduced alongside the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 almost a year ago, it still hasn’t found its way into many smartphones. The operating memory should be 8 / 12 / 16 GB, and the storage capacity here is 128 / 256 / 512 GB. The display used should also be the pride of the new product. It is about 6.78″ OLED with a resolution of 2,652 x 1,200 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. In addition, the display also boasts PWM dimming with a frequency of 1920 Hz, support for the display of up to a billion colors, support for HDR and, last but not least, a brightness of up to 1200 nits.

The manufacturer did not forget the fingerprint reader, which in this case was hidden under the display. He is then present on the back 108MPx Samsung HM6 sensor with an f/1.75 aperture lens, there is also only a 2MPx depth sensor. The body with dimensions of 163.6×75.5×7.98 mm then hides a battery with an above-standard capacity 5,800 mAh with 35W charging support. In mid-July, the Honor X50 will go on sale in its home country of China. The basic, 8/128GB version should be there converted to approximately CZK 4,230 without VAT (1,399 yuan), the 12/256GB variant should cost about 5,440 CZK without VAT (1,799 yuan) and the top 16/512GB version in China will cost about 6,050 CZK without VAT (1,999 yuan).
