Among the novelties that were revealed (as part of the global presentation) at the IFA 2023 fair, the Honor Watch 4 smart watch appeared. It is interesting for several reasons.

The new Honor Watch 4 can easily be mistaken for an Apple Watch. Although they lack a crown, the shape is similar, as is the roundness of the display. However, this comparison is definitely positive, as the Honor Watch 4 makes a pleasant impression and the materials used are valuable enough. On the right side is the only physical button and speaker grill, which is needed because you can make phone calls with the watch.
In this case, the ability to make phone calls through the watch is really interesting, as it can be done not only with a connected phone, but also separately. At the moment, the Honor Watch 4 is the cheapest smart watch in the world with eSIM support, as it costs approximately 3.5 thousand crowns. However, the downside is that eSIM support is not expected outside of the Chinese market.

We were also impressed by the speed of the device. The watch is pretty responsive and uses MagicOS 7.2. It offers roughly a hundred supported modes, sleep monitoring, blood oxygenation measurement, etc. There is also support for various navigation services such as GPS, GLONASS and others. This is also worth noting considering the lower price. What is not very pleasing, on the other hand, is the absence of resistance according to IP68, but water resistance up to 5 atmospheres is not missing.
Huge display and battery
The 1.75″ AMOLED display with a high fineness of 340 PPI left a great impression on us. In addition to the already mentioned roundness, which supports easy gesture control (by swiping), it also has a pretty high brightness and the entire visual of the interface used on it looks really nice. The watch is in hands pleasantly light (around 30 grams), which could play an important role for users who like to go jogging with the watch.
Last but not least, in addition to the above, the battery with a capacity of 451 mAh is also interesting, which should provide 10 days of battery life, which is not bad at all. Although there is no Qi wireless charging and the underside is “only” plastic (that is, plastic can theoretically cause irritation in more sensitive individuals), but everything can be forgiven considering the price.
