Honor V Purse: The Innovative Device to Slow Down Fast Fashion

One of the surprises of this year’s IFA 2023 fair was the original Honor V Purse puzzle. This is a device that is supposed to “slow down” the so-called fast fashion, which is possible thanks to the abundance of wallpapers that can beautify the Honor V Purse. What makes this news unique?

Honor V Purse – first impressions

Ultra thin briefcase

Glittering ornaments, bold colors and extravagant chains. If you like all of the above, you’ll love the Honor V Purse. The novelty, which in this case is clearly aimed at the female part of technology enthusiasts, is at first glance an ordinary puzzle with a display on the outside. On closer inspection, and especially after you dig into the system, you’ll find that’s not quite the case.

The manufacturer did not boast about the specifications of the new product during the fair, after all, in this case, when it is clearly about appearance, it probably doesn’t even matter. However, we do know that the thickness of the flexible phone is even smaller than that of the Magic V2 with an already fantastic thickness of 9.9mm. In the case of the Honor V Purse, the thickness (obviously when folded) is supposed to be less than 9mm, and even thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which measures 8.9mm at the waist.

Just like a classic handbag or briefcase, the Honor V Purse should offer a glimpse into the inner world of every woman, at least that’s how this smartphone is presented by the manufacturer. In addition to the extremely low thickness, we also know that the novelty will support (“surprisingly”) 5G, but Honor is keeping more details to itself for now.

An abundance of styles

The way Honor wants to curb the fast fashion trend is that the Honor V Purse will offer so many different types of wallpapers (or Always-On wallpapers), chains and shoulder straps that users will never get bored. During the presentation, we were able to see static wallpapers, but also really impressive moving alternatives. For example, a wallpaper imitating feathers, which is interactive, looks stylish. When you swipe your finger, the feathers spread to the sides. However, the menu also includes a wallpaper of a chain (matched with a real chain that is attached to the phone), which effectively vibrates to the rhythm of the owner’s walk. The amount of wallpapers, which can also be combined in different ways between a pair of displays, is apparently huge and allows you to adjust the appearance exactly as you wish.

Price and availability remains a question mark

How much the Honor V Purse will cost, or when it will even appear on the market, remains a question mark at the moment. Most likely, however, it will be a limited product intended for selected markets, which will certainly not be cheap, and of course the question remains how the external screen will withstand various scratches or other types of damage. After all, over time it turned out that it is most practical to have a flexible display “hidden” inside the structure, as is the case with the Magic V2, for example.
