Selular.ID –Honor has released a teaser for its first foldable phone, the Honor Magic V. Images shared on its Weibo and Twitter accounts show the hinge between the two halves of the device.
However, picturer Honor Magic V doesn’t indicate whether the phone will have a design like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 or an attached clamshell design like on the Galaxy Z Flip3.
The Weibo post says a foldable phone will be released soon, although there’s no definite launch date and Honor declined to comment.
Digital Chat Station tipster says that Honor will launch its first foldable smartphone in January 2022.
Another leak reveals that the device could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, which will arrive in January next year.
Further speculation suggests that it could feature an AMOLED display and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Honor recently released the Honor Play 30 Plus 5G smartphone in China. It comes with a 6.74-inch TFT LCD display and has a resolution of 1,600×720 pixels with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC.
Honor was founded by Huwaei to cater to the mid-range smartphone market in China and around the world. After Huawei was sanctioned by the US, Honor split from its parent company in 2020.

The foldable smartphone is said to have a launch price of 10,000 yuan (Rp 22.4 million). The company hasn’t revealed any further details, and recent leaks only hinted that it will debut in the Chinese market in January 2022.
With the tester Honor uploaded, it’s revealed that Honor will soon be joining the ranks of Samsung, Motorola, Oppo and Huawei, all of which have released their own foldable smartphones in the last year.
