Zürich. US actress Pamela Anderson (“Baywatch”) is to receive another award: She will be honored at the 20th Zurich Film Festival. For her versatile career and her outstanding performance in her new film “The Last Showgirl”, the 57-year-old will receive the “Golden Eye”, as the festival on its website and announced on InstagramThe actress will accept the award in person on October 4, before presenting her new film with director Gia Coppola.
According to festival director Christian Jungen, Anderson would have deserved an Oscar for the role: “We are therefore delighted to honor Pamela Anderson, this cult actress who many of us grew up with and who has continually reinvented herself, at the ZFF,” Jungen was quoted as saying. The official name of the festival is “Zurich Film Festival” (ZFF), without the umlaut, after the English spelling of the Swiss city.
