Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia Android and Apple are two companies that diligently copy each other’s ideas. However, there are proud features of the iPhone 14 Pro which are apparently not entirely new.

The Chinese company Honor, which separated from Huawei at the end of 2020, claims to be the first vendor to introduce the Dynamic Island feature popularized by the Apple iPhone 14 Pro, quoted from Phone Arena, Monday (3/7/2023)

Speaking at MWC Shanghai, CEO Zhao Ming said that the smartphone industry is being held back by a lack of innovation, and Apple in particular faces innovation hurdles every year.

He said that the widely popularized Dynamic Island feature is similar to the Smart Capsule Honor V20, which was released in 2019.

The Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro is a pill-shaped cutout with smart features. The chunks can change size and shape according to ongoing notifications and activities such as charging status and incoming calls.

This is one of the main features of the Pro versions of the iPhone and even the standard iPhone 14 model doesn’t have it. But oddly enough, one other Android manufacturer has even “copied” the idea and several developers have created apps to give Android users a taste of the interactive chunks.

So while Dynamic Island sounds like a cool new feature, Honor says they were the first to introduce this idea.

The Honor V20 capsule is a pill-shaped animation that is displayed on the right side of the camera cutout and displays info such as call duration.

And before that, there was the LG V10 which had a small secondary screen at the top for notifications and shortcuts.
