“Honor Announces Global Availability of Magic 6 Pro and Porsche Design Magic V2 RSR at MWC”

Honor, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has announced the global availability of its latest flagship, the Magic 6 Pro, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The company also unveiled a special edition of its Magic V2 foldable, called the Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR. Both devices come with advanced features and impressive specifications.

The Magic 6 Pro will retail for €1,299 and will be available from March 1st. It boasts 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. On the other hand, the Porsche Design Magic V2 RSR will cost €2,699 and will ship on March 18th. It comes with 16GB of RAM and a whopping 1TB of storage. While both devices will be available in European markets, they are unlikely to be officially released in the US.

One of the key selling points of the Magic 6 Pro is its AI-powered features. Honor claims that it will eventually support an AI-powered eye-tracking feature that can detect when users are looking at notifications on the Dynamic Island-style interface, known as the “Magic Capsule.” This feature will automatically open the relevant app without the need for physical interaction. However, it remains to be seen how Honor will differentiate between a quick glance and an intentional look.

The Magic 6 Pro also includes other AI-powered features such as “Magic Portal,” which can identify details like events or addresses in messages and automatically link them to the appropriate maps or calendar apps. Additionally, Honor is developing an AI-powered tool that can generate videos based on user photos using a text prompt.

Aside from its AI capabilities, the Magic 6 Pro is a flagship smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It features a large 6.8-inch 120Hz OLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1280 and a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. The device is equipped with a 5,600mAh battery that supports fast charging at up to 80W over a cable or 66W wirelessly.

In terms of photography, the Magic 6 Pro boasts a triple camera setup housed in a circular camera bump. It includes a 50-megapixel main camera with a variable aperture, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 180-megapixel periscope lens with a 2.5x optical zoom. The phone is also IP68 rated for dust and water resistance.

Alongside the global launch of the Magic 6 Pro, Honor is introducing a Porsche-themed version of its Magic V2 foldable. This special edition phone features the words “Porsche Design” on the back and a camera bump design inspired by the German sports car. It comes with 1TB of onboard storage, more durable glass on its external display, and includes a stylus in the box. Honor plans to release a similar Porsche-themed edition of the Magic 6 in March.

Despite its impressive features, it’s worth noting that the Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR still uses last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. This is because the Magic V2 was originally launched in China in July 2023.

Overall, Honor’s latest flagship devices offer advanced AI-powered features, powerful specifications, and unique design elements. The Magic 6 Pro and Porsche Design Magic V2 RSR are set to make waves in the smartphone market, providing users with cutting-edge technology and a touch of luxury.
