Honor 90: First Impressions of the Flagship Smartphone with 200MP Camera and Snapdragon 7 Gen1 Processor

The company Honor recently pleased us with the flagship smartphone Honor Magic5 Pro, which excels in the given price category compared to the competition with an above-average 512GB storage or advanced biometric facial recognition. Now it comes with a representative of the upper middle class, the Honor 90, which impresses with, for example, a 200 Mpx camera, a modern Snapdragon 7 Gen1 chipset or a 6.7″ AMOLED display. What are our first impressions?

Honor 90 dazzles with 200MP camera with Snapdragon 7 Gen1 processor (First impressions)

A design that simply impresses

Although the Honor 90 is not the highest model from the Chinese manufacturer’s offer, its flagship design cannot be denied. Weighing 183 grams, the device has a very well distributed weight, but also rounded sides, which makes it very comfortable to hold. We were also impressed by the photo module, i.e. the pair of circles that rise slightly above the level of the back. They are produced in a matte finish, which guarantees the absence of prints. The frames (in plastic design) are occupied by a pair of buttons on the right side, which can be easily felt.

Another feature typical of flagship smartphones is the rounded display, which is not only found on the sides, but also on the top and bottom. This is a gentle rounding, which you will especially appreciate when using gestures. The manufacturer did not forget about the protective film, although it has relatively sharp corners.

The display panel itself with a diagonal of 6.7″ is of the AMOLED type and offers a resolution of 2,664 × 1,200 pixels. The 120Hz refresh rate, which the phone can dynamically change, is also useful. The display also has a built-in optical fingerprint reader, which works quickly and reliably.

200Mpx camera and 5,000mAh battery

The modern Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition chipset with a clock rate of up to 2.5 GHz is sure to please you with additional equipment. It is a 4nm processor from the second highest series from Qualcomm, for which the tested model has a generous 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM expandable by another 7 (virtual) GB.

Of the other equipment, the use of a 200Mpx primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.9 and phase focus is undoubtedly worth noting. It is a 1/1.4″ sensor, which by default combines 16 pixels into one. In the case of shooting in the native 200 Mpx mode, you must be prepared for the fact that the resulting image has perhaps even 200 MB. There is also a 12 Mpx ultra-wide-angle lens with automatic focus or a 50 Mpx ultra-wide-angle selfie camera with a range of 100 degrees.
