[Tilu News]The Qatar World Long Pool Swimming Championships were held today (18th). The Hong Kong team only participated in the women’s 4×100m medley relay. Ou Kai-chun, He Shibei, Kan Chuotong and Zheng Limei swam together in 4:02.34, reaching the final in sixth place and locking the Hong Kong team’s 13th ticket to the Paris Olympics. Liu Shaoyu, He Zhentao, Zheng Limei and Tam Kailin surpassed the Hong Kong record twice in one day in the 4×100m men’s and women’s freestyle relay last Saturday night (17th), ranking eighth in the final with a time of 3 minutes, 31.13 seconds.

The Hong Kong team consisted of Ou Kai-chun in backstroke, He Shibei in breaststroke, Kan Chuotong in butterfly stroke and Zheng Limei in freestyle in the women’s 4×100m medley relay. In the morning, they set a time of 4:02.34 in the preliminary round and finished third. Six reached the finals. Although the time is 0.68 seconds slower than the Hong Kong record set at the Hangzhou Asian Games, after deducting the three Olympic seats (the United States, Australia and Canada) that had been locked in last year’s Fukuoka World Championships, the Hong Kong team’s performance today is definitely the best in the two World Championships. Ranking among the top 16 in the best time, she qualified for the Paris Olympics women’s 4X100m medley relay. This was also the Hong Kong team’s 13th ticket. The four swam in the final with a time of 4:03.15, and ultimately ranked eighth.
