According to data released by the Tourism Board, among the tourists visiting Hong Kong in July, more than 2.97 million were from the Mainland, and more than 610,000 were from other regions. In the first seven months of this year, a total of nearly 16.5 million tourists visited Hong Kong.
The HKTB recently held an industry briefing to analyze the latest situation and trends of Hong Kong’s tourism industry for more than 700 representatives from local travel agencies, attractions, hotels, aviation, retail, catering, exhibitions, cruises and other tourism and related industries, and Introduce the key tasks of the HKTB in the coming months.
Cheng Dingyi, Director-General of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, said that Hong Kong’s tourism industry is recovering steadily, and the Southeast Asian market has recovered the fastest for inbound tourists. For example, the number of tourists from the Philippines and Thailand last month has each recovered to more than 90% in the same period before the epidemic; For the mainland market, the recovery level is about 70%.
