Hong Kong Police Reveal Model Abby Choi’s Mutilation Motives

Hong Kong

Hong Kong police have revealed the motive behind the murder and mutilation of model Abby Choi, whose body parts were found in a pot of soup. Four suspects, including Choi’s ex-husband, have been detained and charged with murder in this case.

“We believe the victim and her ex-husband’s family had many financial disputes involving large sums of money,” Hong Kong Police Superintendent Alan Chung told local reporters, as reported by local media. Channel News AsiaTuesday (28/2/2023).

“Some are dissatisfied with how the victims handled their assets, which became the motive for killing,” said Chung.

Four suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with this case. They consist of Alex Kwong Kong-Chi (28) who is Choi’s ex-husband, then Kwong Kau (65) and Jenny Li Sui-heung (63) who are Kwong’s father and mother, and Anthony Kwong Kong-kit (31) who is Kwong’s older brother.

The four were presented at the trial which was held at the Kowloon City Court on Monday (27/2) local time, to hear the charges against them.

Kwong, along with his father and older brother, were charged with the murder of Choi, which was allegedly committed on February 21. Meanwhile, Li Sui-heung (63) is facing charges of misleading the judicial process in relation to this mutilation case. After appearing in court, the four suspects are now being held without bail.

One other person, a 47-year-old woman surnamed Ng, was also arrested but has not yet been charged. The fifth suspect allegedly hid Kwong before he was arrested by police.
