[Sports News]The Hong Kong Open Water Team sent four athletes, two men and two women, to Fukuoka, Japan to participate in the 10km, 5km and 4×1500m mixed relay races in the FINA Swimming Championships. Nie Zhiyan, who had the best performance in the women’s 10km, ranked third among Asian swimmers.
Nie Zhiyan performed well in the women’s 10km race held on the first day (15th). She swam for 2 hours, 7 minutes, 6.3 seconds and ranked 29th overall. Asian swimmers ranked third after China and Japan; teammate Lin Botong In 2 hours, 10 minutes, 8.8 seconds, the overall ranking was 39th.
In today’s (16th) men’s 10km race, Hong Kong general Fang Yin swam 2 hours, 4 minutes, 20.4 seconds, ranked 48th overall, and ranked ninth among Asian players; teammate Xian Zhanting swam 2 hours, 5 minutes, 36 seconds 1 , finishing 54th overall.
The Hong Kong team will participate in the women’s 5km and men’s 5km races on July 18.
