Hong Joon-pyo “Concerns about a ‘vegetable government’ early next year… Tell the President to completely change the office.”

Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo said, “We will have a vegetable government early next year,” and added, “A month ago, I told President Yoon Seok-yeol to completely change the government and presidential office, and negotiate with the Democratic Party if the party is not resolved.”

Mayor Hong Joon-pyo attended the regular forum ‘Population, Climate and Tomorrow’ hosted by People Power Party lawmaker Na Kyung-won at the National Assembly this morning as a speaker.

At this meeting, Mayor Hong pointed out, “108 seats is a huge number. The ruling party is gradually falling because the 108 seats cannot unite and people keep falling apart and saying absurd things.”

He expressed concern about the current party and government, saying, “If this happens, it will become a vegetable government early next year, and it will be branded as a government that should naturally step down, not impeachment.”

He also said, “If you look at his current actions, we are on the eve of former President Park Geun-hye’s impeachment.”

Mayor Hong then took aim at Han Dong-hoon, representative of the People Power Party, who has publicly criticized the President’s Office, saying, “The party should not go with a heavy rescue method. If the government makes a mistake, it should strictly open a channel with the government to fix it. Instead, it throws it at the media and irresponsibly instigates conflict. He also criticized it by saying, “Nothing will come of it.”

Mayor Hong also revealed his conversation with President Yoon Seok-yeol a month ago.

“I said that to President Yoon Seok-yeol a month ago,” he said. “Change the government completely. Change the Office of the President. There are not many useful people. Change everything and appear in front of the people with a new appearance after the budget National Assembly is over. If the party cannot be resolved, the party will give up.” He advised, “Do it. If that doesn’t work, negotiate with the Democratic Party. That way, you can normalize the country.”

‘What is the purpose of telling the President to negotiate directly with the Democratic Party?’ the reporters asked.

Mayor Hong said, “If our party doesn’t cooperate, wouldn’t it be right to negotiate with the Democratic Party? Even if we have 108 seats, if we don’t do anything and only open our eyes, conflicts will continue to arise. How can we do politics with that? If we do that, we’ll do it with the Democratic Party.” “He criticized CEO Han Dong-hoon again.

He also took a critical stance on the ruling and opposition party council launched by Representative Han Dong-hoon.

“Our party has done nothing about it,” he said. “Now, even next year’s quota for medical schools has been confirmed, so adjustments should have been made sooner.”

Also, regarding the special inspector general promoted by CEO Han Dong-hoon, he said, “That is a minor issue,” and added, “I think it is very funny that it is appearing as a major issue.”

The temperature difference between President Yoon, who was a former prosecutor, and Representative Han was also evident in his later remarks.

“President Yoon Seok-yeol and CEO Han Dong-hoon are both mercenaries. Do mercenaries have affection for this party?” he said, lumping the two together. “Mercenaries have come in and are ruining the party. President Yoon came in as a mercenary and changed the government.” He mentioned the two separately, saying, “They are the ones we should be thankful for, but the rest of them only cause chaos in the party.”

Meanwhile, Mayor Hong denied the rumor that he would be selected as prime minister, saying, “Daegu City work remains to be done.”
