– I am very proud of my new album, which is coming out this spring, and that I wrote it all alone in a cabin in Rondane!

Introvert or extrovert? I tend to say that I am an introverted extrovert. It really depends on the day and who I’m with
Right from the start or cloud of conflict? I’m probably quite conflict-shy, but if there’s something I’m really passionate about, I can suddenly become very committed
Carefully planned or take it as it comes? Carefully planned, definitely. I make lists for almost everything I have to do. But I’m trying to get better at taking life as it comes as well
Save or splurge? For myself, I’m probably someone who saves money, but I’m very happy if I can splurge a little when it comes to friends and family
«Dax18» or «The Farm»? «Dax18»
Board games or Playstation? I love board games!

When was the last time you cried and why?
– I cry very often because I am so quickly moved. But the last time I really cried was when I saw “Dementia Choir” on NRK. An absolutely fantastic program with real people that warmed my heart.

What is the bravest thing you have done?
– I have traveled a lot alone around the world to write. Among other things, the day after I turned 20, I went alone to Nashville to record songs for three weeks. I was also alone for a week in the mountains to write my upcoming album. It was scary, but also incredibly nice to learn to become comfortable in your own company.

What is the most dramatic thing you have experienced?
– I witnessed a car accident a few years ago. It went well with everyone in the end as far as I know, but it was quite intense to be in the middle of it then and there.

And… when was the last time you got lost?
– I think it’s almost daily.

What do you regret most in life?
– I try not to regret so much, and rather think that you grow and can learn from your mistakes. Of course, I have done things that I regret, but I try not to let it occupy too much space in my mind.

What’s the sickest rumor you’ve heard about yourself?
– There was a rumor at high school that I knew Kurt Nilsen, which I absolutely did not. I remember sitting in maths class and someone asked me a little gently if it was true. I understood nothing.

What is the nicest thing someone has said to you?
– That I am loved just the way I am.

Who would you cancel and why?
– There are many people out there who I believe absolutely should not have the platform and influence they have, but I am basically not a big fan of the cancellation culture.

And… What do you think about the cancellation culture?
– I think the cancellation culture really only creates even greater polarization. Which is paradoxical as it really exists to cancel those who create it in the first place. Difficult topic.

Who/what would you like to pay tribute to and why?
– I want to pay tribute to everyone who spends their life doing something good for others. It can be so much, but it can also be the small things you do for each other in everyday life.

What pisses you off?
– How much hate there is in the world.

If you have 500,000 to invest, how would you invest?
– I would probably have invested in sustainable energy.

What is the best or worst gift you have received or given?
– I love both giving and receiving personal gifts or experiences! Once I got a box of lots of random things and food items that this person and I had shared memories or inside jokes about. It wasn’t fancy, but it was personal, and I really appreciate that.

Give us some quick recommendations!

Book/newspaper/magazine: “Where the Crawdads Sing”. Incredibly beautiful, but also sad story
Series/Movie: “The Dementia Choir” on NRK. One of the nicest things I’ve seen in a long time
Music: “Sunset In The Blue” by Melody Gardot. I listened to this record a lot when I was writing my own album
App: Mindfulness. Very nice to calm down a bit, if you only have five minutes to spare
SoMe-konto: @ethanbarber.co. Ethan Barber makes such fine films from New York that I watch and dream away
Food/drink: Nektar wine bar right by the Dam Strait in Oslo. Super cozy, but almost always full
Holiday destination: Høvringen/Rondane. For those who want an epic nature experience
