“Honduras Team Rivals for Concacaf Nations League 2023-24 Group Stage”

The Honduran team already has rivals for the group stage of the third edition of the Concacaf Nations League 2023-24.

After a draw made in the city of Miami, United States, the Catracho team was placed in group B, of League A, together with the representations of Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, Suriname and Grenada.

While the A key was made up of Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador, Martinique, Curaçao and Nicaragua.

After the group stage, the first and second-place teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, where they will join the four highest-ranked A-League national teams of Canada, Costa Rica, the United States and Mexico.

The group stage of the CNL 2023/24 will be played during the FIFA Dates of September, October and November 2023. The new quarterfinals will be played in November 2023.

The new A League quarter-final round will be played in a home-and-away format, with the winners in each meeting advancing to the Nations League finals.

For this 2023/24 edition, the winners of the quarterfinals will qualify for the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024.

The other two Concacaf participants in the Copa América will be determined through a single-match playoff between the four losers of the quarterfinals.

B LEAGUE

League B has 16 teams divided into four groups of four teams. Each team will play all the other teams in their group, round trip, for a total of six games per team (three home and three away).

The groups are the following:

Group A: Guadeloupe, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Sint Maarten.

Group B: Trinidad and Tobago, Dominican Republic, Monserrat and Barbados.

Group C: French Guyana, Bermuda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Belize.

Group D: Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda, Puerto Rico and Bahamas.

C LEAGUE

League C will now include nine teams divided into three groups of three teams. Each team will play against all the teams in its group, round trip, for a total of four games per team (two at home and two away).

The groups are the following:

Group A: Bonaire, Saint Martin and Anguilla.

Group B: Aruba, Cayman Islands and US Virgin Islands.

Group C: Dominica, Turks and Caicos Islands and British Virgin Islands.

ASCEND AND DESCEND

The promotion and relegation between the CNL leagues will take place at the end of the third edition, as follows:

Liga A: fifth and sixth places will descend to Liga B.

League B: group winners will be promoted to League A and fourth places will be relegated to League C.

League C: Group winners and best runner-up will be promoted to League B. (HN)
