Jakarta –
PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) respond to appearances Toyota Agya dan Daihatsu Ayla baru. They are sure that the appearance of these two new products will not interfere with Honda Brio’s sales in the low-cost car market or LCGC.
HPM Marketing Director, Yusak Billy said, manufacturers must have special considerations before launching new products in Indonesia, including Daihatsu and Toyota. Meanwhile, his party is still confident with the sales of the existing Honda Brio.
“Refreshment of a product is certain (seen) also from what the market looks like, yes, and what is the demand, with the current (Brio) model the demand is still high, especially outside Java. I’m sure Brio can still be a leader in the segment LCGC,” Yusak said when met at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Friday (24/2).
Yusak seems to prefer to focus on his own product, rather than caring about competitors. According to him, Honda Brio is known for having good value for money, so the emergence of new products will not damage the market.
“Our car (Brio) is very value for money, global quality is tested, fuel consumption is also good, the resell value is good, so it is very value for money. So (Brio) is definitely superior (compared to Agya-Ayla). ” he said.
It is known that Toyota Agya and Daihatsu Ayla just launched together a few weeks ago. Both are built from the same platform or design, namely TNGA-DNGA.
Even though it has been launched, the new Agya-Ayla has not actually been sold, even the official price has not been announced. However, what is clear is that the two cars have experienced a number of improvements, both in terms of appearance, features and engines.
Especially for Agya, Toyota ‘imitated’ Honda’s steps by presenting LCGC and non-LCGC versions. Meanwhile, Ayla still consistently plays only in the LCGC market. After all, the three of them will clash over the attention of entry-level consumers or beginners in Indonesia.
