Honda has officially announced that the third-generation HR-V crossover, which will go on sale in Europe at the end of 2021, will only be available with an e: HEV hybrid drive. The experience gained in Formula 1 was used in the development of this hybrid tract, which is already installed in the CR-V and Jazz models.
Installation of this HR-V is of the e: HEV type and combines a naturally aspirated petrol 1.5-liter engine with 106 horsepower as a generator with two electric motors. the system power is 131 horsepower and the maximum torque is 253 Nm. This allows the HR-V to accelerate to 100 in 10.6 seconds. The consumption in the combined cycle of WLTP is 5.4 liters per 100 kilometers.
as already mentioned, the hybrid system e: HEV is structurally identical to that used in Jazz, but the HR-V has a larger battery (60 cells instead of 48), and it is more powerful (80 kilowatts). The crossover has three driving modes (Electric Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive), which change automatically, depending on the road situation and imperceptibly for the driver.

The system also has four levels of energy recovery. In order to make the HR-V more dynamic, the gear ratios in the transmission have been reduced. The HR-V subcompact crossover becomes the company’s third model to be available in the Old World exclusively with the e: HEV petrol-electric power plant. Its sales will begin before the end of this year.
