Hope had emerged from his younger brother when he won two podiums in a row at Aragon and Le Mans. However, Honda is also having a hard time delivering a competitive bike for the 2021 season. Although Marc has won several podiums this season, the manufacturer with the single-wing logo has not yet returned to his best.
In addition to the physical condition that has not fully recovered, technical problems are also a major factor that makes one of the most feared motorbikes in MotoGP fail to appear competitive.
It’s no secret that Honda motorcycles are inherently very aggressive. Although Honda has a very large power, but can not use it because it does not have good grip.
“We (Honda riders) are very difficult to transfer engine power to the rear tire. Because we don’t have good grip as a result the tires spin too much (spin),” said Alex Marquez.
Alex also added that the Catalunya Circuit is a track that shows the main problem very clearly. According to him, Honda must quickly fix this problem so that it can appear competitive again in the future.

Even so, Honda has also prepared a new bike for MotoGP 2022 with some major changes. The changes include the use of the front fairing and exhaust pipe to the right.
The fairing has been made slimmer to reduce the effect of downforce, while the exhaust system which is usually located just under the seat is now placed more to the right to maximize electronic system storage space.
Marc Marquez, who has tested this new bike, gives a positive impression and feels that there is a big improvement compared to this season’s bike.
“It’s great to see a revolution, not just an evolution. I never doubted that Honda had tried everything. But this big innovation looks really great from the outside,” concluded Marc Marquez.
